Privacy Policy

The Opening Gate is a small, independent project. This page explains plainly what information we collect, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

Email address — when you request your free Personal Window, subscribe as a Patron, or purchase the journal.
Your written answers — if you use the Personal Window form (area of focus, challenge, current state, hope for the week).
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details ourselves.

How your written answers are used

If you request a Personal Window, your answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a personalized reflection, shown to you on the same page. We do not retain your raw answers after generating that response — they are used once, then discarded. We do not use your personal reflections to train any AI model.

Who we share information with

Stripe — processes payments for the journal and Patron memberships.
Anthropic — processes your form answers (Personal Window and Patron personalization only) to generate your reflection.
Resend — delivers the weekly email to Patron members.
Cloudflare — hosts the website and stores the minimal data needed to run it (e.g. whether you've already claimed your free Personal Window).
Zoho — our email inbox, if you write to us directly.

We do not sell your information to anyone, ever.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from Patron emails at any time via the link in any email, or by writing to us. You can ask us to delete any information we hold about you by emailing gate@theopeninggate.com.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
